From time to time in private coaching, I'll share an advanced writing lesson to help the people I'm working with think about their writing and content at a more advanced level.
I'd love to share one of those lessons with you because I think it's super interesting — it's about the concept of parataxis, or “a coordinate, rather than a subordinate, construction.”
This is about the structure of the whole piece of writing we're working on. Is it subordinate, with sections building on sections in a logical pattern? Or is it associative, with meaning emerging sentence-by-sentence?
